It is official – Delaware officials have proclaimed that they will try to get the privileges so that they can have gambling and single game sports betting. They plan to proclaim their rights to the US Supreme Court.

Delaware Governor Jack Markell, as well as his fully trained legal team, will take this particular matter to the US Supreme Court as soon as possible so that they can hopefully begin offering sports betting on single games at the state casinos.

The previous court ruling, which had shocked Delaware practically off of their feet, from the US Third Circuit Court of Appeals, was based off of the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act that was grandfathered in stating that Delaware could operate only parlay betting, which could also only be used on NFL games. Delaware had initially expected $50 million to be generated annually and with this above court ruling based off of grandfathered information, they were only able to generate a small percentage of that $50 million.

Delaware has done some of research of their own and they are ready to request an overrule on the Court of Appeals from the Supreme Court especially since the market is spiraling upward and that they have realized the PASPA law is what is averting them from obtaining this justice.

The Governor’s legal team already has the case set into play and intend on stating that Delaware is being blocked by the PASPA law from being able to collect desperately needed revenue. The state had already set up their gaming institutions to allow sports betting within the venues and had based some revenue estimates off of the sports betting traffic.

Should the US Supreme Court decide to take on this case and hear it in their court, attorneys that will represent various US sports leagues will bring forward to the US Supreme Court, on their behalf that Delaware restricted from open gambling.
