Preliminary 2010 World Cup Rosters for Ivory Coast and Portugal
Preliminary rosters were due this week for all 32 World Cup teams. 23 men from the required preliminary rosters will be packing their bags and headed to South Africa to participate in the 2010 World Cup. Ivory Coast and Portugal will have their opening game against each other on June 15 and their preliminary rosters are below.
Ivory Coast goalkeepers include Aristide Zogbo from Maccabi Netanya, Daniel Yeboah from ASEC Mimosas, Vincent Angban from ASEC Mimosas and Boubacar Barry from KSC Lokeren.
Forwards include Lacina Traore from Cluj, Jean-Jacques Gosso Gosso from Monaco, Gervinho from Lille, Bakari Kone from Marseille, Abdul Keita from Galatasaray, Salomon Kalou from Chelsea, Didier Drogba from Chelsea, Seydou Doumbia from CSKA Moscow and Aruna Dindane from Portsmouth.
Defenders for Ivory Coast are Benjamin Angoua from Valenciennes, Steve Gohouri from Wigan, Guy Demel from Hamburger SV, Kolo Toure from Manchester City, Siaka Tiene from Valenciennes, Abdoulaye Meite from West Bromwich Albion, Emmanuel Eboue from Arsenal, Arthur Boka from Stuttgart and Souleman Bamba from Hibernian.
Ivory Coast midfielders include Emmanuel Kone from Cluj, Kanga Akale from Lens, Didier Zokora from Sevilla, Gilles Yapi Yapo from Young Boys, Yaya Toure from Barcelona, Cheick Tiote from FC Twente, Koffi Romaric N’Dri from Sevilla and Emerse Fae from Nice.
Portugal goalkeepers include Daniel Fernandes from Iraklis, Beto from FC Porto and Eduardo from FC Braga.
Forwards are Liedson from Sporting Lisbon, Danny from Zenit St. Petersburg, Hugo Almeida from Werder Bremen, Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid, Simao Sabrosa from Atletico Madrid and Nani from Manchester United.
Defenders for Portugal are Ricardo Costa from Lille, Ze Castro from Deportivo La Coruna, Pepe from Real Madrid, Fabio Coentrao from Benfica, Rolando from FC Porto, Ricardo Carvalho from Chelsea, Miguel Brito from Valencia, Paulo Ferreira from Chelsea, Bruno Alves from FC Porto and Duda from Malaga.
Midfielders for Portugal include Miguel Veloso from Sporting Lisbon, Pedro Mendes from Sporting Lisbon, Raul Meireles from FC Porto, Tiago from Atletico Madrid and Deco from Chelsea.
